Are you an Internationally Trained Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or a kindergarten/elementary teacher with a pedagogical focus wanting to work as an ECE in Ontario?
We can assist you.
The Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007, which established the College of Early Childhood Educators, requires all individuals who use the professional title of “Early Childhood Educator” or “Registered Early Childhood Educator”, and work within the scope of practice defined in the Act, to become registered members of the College of Early Childhood Educators.
The AECEO and L’AFESEO Letter of Equivalency Certificates are recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators as meeting the educational qualification component of the application process for membership in the College.
This Bridging Program for Internationally Trained ECEs will provide eligible applicants with the upgrading and experience to be recognized to work in Ontario. The program acknowledges your skills and international education. It is also designed to integrate your skills with Ontario standards as required for recognition by the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario (AECEO). Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive an AECEO Letter of Equivalency Certificate.

Access to Information:
A personal Intake Coordinator will provide easy to understand information about gaining credentials needed to work in the ECE field in Ontario, Canada. The program integrates a range of educational programming and activities such as bridging courses and training. It will provide a communication and outreach office as a central source of information.
